Have won six in a row since that defeat against Al Ain in January. Seems like Cosmin has improved the defensive lineup as the back four has only conceded 2 goals in their last six. Are we going to jinx them? |

Desperately needed that win to not only etch their name on to the AGL league trophy but also claim their stake as the team to beat. To put it into perspective, this season has seen teams falter when ego is crushed. Al Jazira had theirs crushed against Al Ahli but came back strong courtesy of Ali Mabkhout. |

Were far from perfect, and coughing up points at home for the second time to a lower tier team is an issue. They’ll have to figure out how to make front-foot soccer work. |

A three-game winning streak – seems to have banished the early-season frustrations of Wahdawi’s. It helps that Balázs Dzsudzsák has been even better than advertised, slotting comfortably into the starting lineup and playing at a Best XI level. |

Not the team they used to be. Will most likely get a makeover once the season is over. But for now, they closely fight with rivals Al Ahli to claim the not-so-coveted second position in the table. |

The good news: Wanderley finally got untracked, and Al Nasr have not lost any in four games. advanced. The bad news: no reason to have any as of Round 21 especially when they score Beckham-esque goals like this:

That ceiling of riding high was going to cap at some point for them. They still go back home with their heads held high as it was Al Ahli and not some lower tier teams that capped it for them (this is all assuming we have forgotten that loss against Baniyas). |

Took the lead twice and dropped it twice. How uncomfortable was Mousa Abdulrahman Hatab on that ball before gifting it away for the first goal? The plight of Emirati defenders across the country who are uncomfortable with taking a few touches on the ball. They’re still making far too many errors defending in their own 18, and they keep getting punished for it. |

Have been a rough six games for them but the good news is that they refuse to go down without an offensive fight. Only gave out one shutout to their opponents (vs Al Jazira) in their past six. Now, to focus on that defense. Eeessshhhh. |

Held their own against a ‘not-so-solid’ Al Wasl team. Nothing exciting but just nudged Al Wasl enough to go back home with a point. Ahlawis will be happy though. |

We at Power Rankings contends, that the issue with Al Shabab is not that of a lack of talent. Rather it’s lack of stability, repetition and chemistry – three things all young (no pun intended) teams need. |
