Win the second round between the two as well with the same scoreline like the one in November. The only difference was that it was just a little more feistier. Didn’t play their best, but continue to find answers in front of goal.

HIGH: 1 | LOW: 3
Latest result: Won against Al Shabab 2-1
Next AGL match: Away at Al Jazira (04/10)

Believe Douglas has proved his worth, especially when he scores a stunner like the below which surely is a goal of the season contender. And for the first time, the new arrivals – Douglas and Asprilla – all look to be on the same page with their midfield. Beautiful.

LAST WEEK: 2
HIGH: 1 | LOW: 2
Latest result: Won against Baniyas 4-2
Next AGL match: Home against Al Nasr (04/10)

All around positive from the Maroons. Ismael Mattar capped off the perfect week which included his recall in the national team with a goal and Sebastian Tagliabue doing what he does best. Scoring one + in a game.
LAST WEEK: 5
HIGH: 3 | LOW: 9
Latest result: Won at Fujairah 3-0
Next AGL match: Home against Emirates (04/09)

Should have been sitting comfortably in third position in the AGL table but not the case right now. Why, because they were only able to get two points against teams where they should have taken home six. Al Wasl need to start generating good chances on the break again.
LAST WEEK: 3
HIGH: 3 | LOW: 10
Latest result: Draw at Al Dhafra 2-2
Next AGL match: Away at Baniyas (04/08)

Needed a win against a good team. Ali Mabkhout – on the top performing Emirati’s list that stole the show with a brace and an assist, especially when the foreign support was basically non-existent.
LAST WEEK: 7
HIGH: 5 | LOW: 12
Latest result: Won at Al Nasr 3-2
Next AGL match: Home against Al Ahli (04/10)

To be honest, Al Shabab are relentless and often beautiful in attack, but they have an obvious weakness – emotions take the best of them in derby situations – that continues to cost them points.

Next AGL match: Home against Al Shaab (04/09)

Definitely did not look like the best by-the-numbers defensive team in the weekend. And surely, it was a humbling experience.

AHuge, huge round of applause for Al Dhafra’s perseverance to come back from two goals down to earning a point. HUGE!!!!

On the safe zone, but had to show true character to get that point. And was a sight to see Ricardinho Cavalcante score his first in the manner that he did.

Latest result: Draw at Emirates 2-2
Next AGL match: Home against Al Dhafra (04/08)

Fought hard against the champions as midfield sloppiness was evident, but the big worry is Baniyas’ defense. Have given up points, and have now won just once in their last five.

Latest result: Lost at Al Ain 2-4
Next AGL match: Home against Al Wasl (04/08)

Played and won perhaps their most important match of the season in that win over an unfortunate Al Shaab squad, and more than secured their spot in the top division next season.
LAST WEEK: 12
HIGH: 7 | LOW: 14
Latest result: Won at Al Shaab 1-0
Next AGL match: Home against Fujairah (04/08)

Got a lesson in pragmatism from Sharjah. No matter how hard you work – and Emirates are pretty hard working – you can’t allow chances on the break or set pieces. That loses you games against a good team; in this case it was a draw.
LAST WEEK: 11
HIGH: 4 | LOW: 12
Latest result: Draw against Sharjah 2-2
Next AGL match: Away at Al Wahda (04/09)

Suffered their fifth consecutive loss. Things are not looking good.
