Al Ahli - Ismael

Mohamed Abdul Rahman gets all the love from our end this week. Was terrific in his inolvement in the first two goals. Al Ain always seemed in control, and were rarely threatened. Next week’s game against Al Ahli will decide if they will maintain the top position in the Power Rankings.

HIGH: 1 | LOW: 2
Latest result: Won at Al Nasr 3-0
Next AGL match: Home against Al Ahli (12/5)

Two wins against two strong opponents in less than a week’s time. We are officially sold on the Ahlawi’s, and doubly so on Lima – or as we call him, “Lima v2.0”, based on him finding his goal scoring touch after recovering from his three-match goal drought.
LAST WEEK: 2
HIGH: 1 | LOW: 3
Latest result: Won against Al Jazira 4-1
Next AGL match: Away at Al Ain (12/5)

Caio remains an unplayable force when his support staff in the form of Edgar is present. No other team in AGL has a offensive weapon like the Waslawi’s do.
LAST WEEK: 5
HIGH: 3 | LOW: 10
Latest result: Won against Baniyas 2-1
Next AGL match: Away at Sharjah (12/4)

Simple – Al Nasr just couldn’t answer Al Ain’s intensity and were forced to repeatedly scramble in defense. They didn’t look like the home team.
LAST WEEK: 3
HIGH: 3 | LOW: 7
Latest result: Lost against Al Ain 0-3
Next AGL match: Away at Baniyas (12/3)

Great 87 minutes until they broke down. To be honest, Power Rankings was feeling good about their performance until eventually jinxing them. Defensive breakdown in the last few minutes brings in reality of how the league works. Lost three points, though it felt like they should have had all three.
LAST WEEK: 4
HIGH: 4 | LOW: 10
Latest result: Lost against Al Wahda 2-3
Next AGL match: Away at Dibba Al Fujairah (12/3)

A tough loss earlier in the week against Al Ahli which saw tempers flare, multiple yellows and a late equaliser disallowed. But they got back on track with a dominant 3-0 win over Al Shaab, with Jo obliterating his opponents.
LAST WEEK: 8
HIGH: 4 | LOW: 6
Latest result: Away at Al Shaab 3-1
Next AGL match: Home against Fujairah (12/5)

The forwards are receiving a lot of flak, but the defense is a bigger concern. And at this point, it seems like forever since they had won a game.

HIGH: 3 | LOW: 5
Latest result: Lost at Al Wasl 1-2
Next AGL match: Home against Al Nasr (12/3)

It was ugly and lacking in class, but it was a road win over a solid defensive team. Few positives – Denlison scored his first of the season and captain Ismael Mattar finally showed up when his team needed it.
LAST WEEK: 9
HIGH: 3 | LOW: 9
Latest result: Won at Emirates 3-2
Next AGL match: Home against Al Dhafra (12/4)

Hard to understand how this team functions – drew against Al Jazira, won against Al Wahda and then lost against rivals, losing three points that could have taken them to the 5th position in the league table.

HIGH: 7 | LOW: 14
Latest result: Lost against Dibba Al Fujairah 0-1
Next AGL match: Away at Al Shabab (12/5)

Lost four and drew twice in their last six. The ill-fated season continues for Jazrawi’s. Speechless to be honest.

Latest result: Lost at Al Ahli 1-4
Next AGL match: Home against Al Shaab (12/5)

Nasser Abdulhadi capped off the Fujairah derby with this magnificent strike.

Crucial to win games against teams like Sharjah if they hope to remain in the league. Luckily for them, the two below them are in an even worse situation.

HIGH: 11 | LOW: 13
Latest result: Draw against Sharjah 0-0
Next AGL match: Away at Al Wahda (12/4)

Sleeper of a scoreless away draw, which is disappointing since a win would have given Sharjawy’s some early breathing space.

Latest result: Draw at Al Dhafra 0-0
Next AGL match: Home against Al Wasl (12/4)

Unfortunately, the club continues to slip into oblivion.
