Earlier in the month, FIFA decided to allow the head coverings on the field, allowing Muslim women wearing Hijab and Sikh players to play the game.

But the news had not reached the soccer officials in Aurora, Colorado, as they refused to allow Overland High School’s teen player – Samah Aidah from playing the game.

In an attempt to break the stigma, and in a manner of true sportsmanship, the entire team adorned the garment for the next game.

The picture below was posted by Divine Davies with the following tweet, “The refs wouldn’t let Samah play with her hijab so today we all wore one for the game #lovemyteam #letsamahplay.”
